The pilgrimage site Calvary above Jaroměřice was built by František Michal Šubíř in 1712-1713 as a gesture of gratitude for the birth of his daughter. The Baroque Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, surrounded by a wall with six chapels, resembles the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The classicist main altar from 1735 is complemented by a chapel called the "Gethsemane Garden." Access to the courtyard, formerly a cemetery, is possible through a gate between two square towers with the "Ecce Homo" sculpture. In addition to the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre, the Virgin Mary, and the "stone of anointing," you will find an underground chapel with rich sculptural decoration beneath the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre. The pilgrimage site also includes a Baroque rectory from 1710 and the Stations of the Cross, leading from the Church of All Saints in Jaroměřice to the Calvary hill.
