Several thousand students and anti-government protesters took to the streets in Caracas on Tuesday in continued demonstrations at the economic situation and high levels of violence in Venezuela.

Eighteen people have died in violent clashes since the marches began a month ago.

One activist said: "We lack food. We need to queue to get basic food. Mothers suffer a lot to find milk to their children. We lack medicine, there's no medicine for chronic diseases."
