And of course, we can't miss their most prominent feature—their snowy white head and tail, contrasting beautifully with their dark brown body feathers. Bald eagles are mainly found in North America, from Alaska to Florida and from the Pacific Northwest to the Atlantic coast.
They prefer habitats near water, such as rivers, lakes, and coastal areas, where they can find an abundant food supply. Did you know that bald eagles build some of the largest bird nests in the world? These nests, called eyries, and they can be up to 13 feet deep and weigh up to 1 ton!
