Intrinsic and Extrinsic value is a critical concept to options traders, but isn't talked about much by educators. The extrinsic value of an option plays a big role especially for options buyers, which is what most options trading beginners start off as.
In this video, I explain what Intrinsic and Extrinsic values are, how they are calculated, and the factors that affect their size. Real options chain and prices are used to illustrate the concept. Hopefully, this strengthens the fundamental understanding of new options traders.
