J'Ouvert comes from the French words "jour ouvert," which means daybreak or morning. J'ouvert is a celebration of freedom from slavery, which is also an expression of rebirth and joy throughout the Caribbean and abroad.
Carnival is the traditional street festival honoring the vast heritage and culture of the Caribbean diaspora.
This video is from last year and must admit that as a Photographer, it is absolutely the most exciting and colorful event to document but unfortunately for the first time in a long time, this year I didn't get to shoot it due to my endeavors as a travel blogger.
