DIY BASICS: Latex or oil based paint. Why does it matter?! Because when you repaint your walls, you want to make sure you use the correct paint. Otherwise, your paint may peel one day.
To test your walls: pour acetone on a rag and rub on your painted walls. If paint comes off on the rag, it’s latex. If it doesn’t, it’s oil based.
Latex paint: latex paint can be used. No primer necessary
Oil based paint: oil based primer needs to be used before painting with latex paint.
