In this video I will explain what is the Zeeman effect. Zeeman is a Dutch physicist whose name means “man of the sea.” When electron jumps from a higher energy level to a lower energy level photons are emitted at specific wavelengths or frequencies. Zeeman discovered when the hydrogen atom is subjected to a magnetic electric field additional spectra lines appeared.
