The free multispecialty medical and village assistance camp on an integrative and holistic theme is organized regularly for financially downtrodden village and tribal population at different places all over India for about a decade. Specialists from different systems of medicine: Allopathic. Homeopathic, Ayurveda, etc. volunteer to provide selfless service. Besides giving holistic healthcare, the camp offers recreational facilities for children like hole in the wall computer activity, games, making soft toys, stitching, block printing, etc. along with career guidance and spoken English. For homemakers, there is a facility for learning food preservation and for villagers there is assistance in giving solutions to their problems on agriculture, dairy, water, sanitation etc. along with soil testing facilities. In this talk, Dr. Bhatnagar presents a glimpse of these camps. Dr. Anjoo Bhatnagar after doing her MBBS with honors and medals in almost all subjects of medicine and receiving President’s medal for her outstanding meritorious performance choose Pediatrics as her subject of specialization for her masters.
After working for half of her professional life on top position in corporate Hospital and being involved in high end intensive care pediatrics, she first came in touch with tribal population of Indian children in remote area of Madhya Pradesh. On treating these children she realized that it’s here where the actual services of a real professional is required and gradually she evolved herself to treat financially downtrodden village children through ultra low cost, integrated systems of medicine where a simple decoction can work wonders. Attending free medical camps with increasing frequency now she is giving full time and advantage of her qualification and experience to the children who belong to disadvantaged population.
