17 flights were delayed due to fog at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Tuesday morning, 5 January. Trains were also hit on Tuesday as dense fog hampered visibility. Sixty two trains were delayed and 18 cancelled while 20 were rescheduled, ANI reported.
According to the Indian Meteorological department, general visibility improved to 200 metres at IGI as compared to zero metres in the past two days. Flights were completely stopped from taking off between 11 pm and 12 am on Monday night as visibility was nil.
