Also on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, President Yoon Suk Yeol held bilateral talks with his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo on Sunday, discussing ways to deepen economic cooperation between the two countries.
While expressing gratitude to the Indonesian president for his support for bilateral cooperation ranging from investment to defense, President Yoon said he is pleased to see ties move forward since their meeting last July.
President Joko Widodo highlighted the significance of the cooperation between Seoul and Jakarta, and urged Seoul to actively invest in various fields in Indonesia including agriculture and electric vehicles.
He also mentioned his expectations that South Korean companies will participate in the construction of Indonesia's new capital city, Nusantara.
