Pipi inviting investors to continue the exploitation under Act 60 (formerly Act 20 & Act 22) to strengthen his quid pro quo relationship with the investors. This predatory law was created under a corrupt government with an agenda to make a “Puerto Rico without Puerto Ricans” as the leaked chats revealed in their group discussion.

Under Act 60’s Invest Puerto Rico, they offer people outside of Puerto Rico FEDERAL, MUNICIPAL and PROPERTY tax breaks under Act 60. This law excludes local Puerto Ricans, which even if it included them, it’s an unlevel playing field considering there is little comparison of Puerto Rican elites compared to the NON-Puerto Ricans moving in from abroad.

One of the many problematic chapters of Act 60 is Chapter 5, this specific chapter is what is responsible for the displacement of local Puerto Ricans from their communities, buying protected land and natural resources to illegal build on without permits as our corrupt government turns a blind eye and them tying to privatize our public beaches. Let’s not forget how Act 60 investors also caused an inflated real estate bubble where many locals can’t compete with Act 60 investors purchasing power.

We are watching our own ancestral land be taken over by non-Puerto Ricans exploiting it for profit while displacing and causing slave wage as their servants. Our land and the people are being exploited in Puerto Rico and Pedro Pierluisi is profiting off of them from donations, back door deals and real estate his family caters to selling to these investors.
