Long exposure photography opens up lots of creative possibilities from light trails, astrophotography, silky smooth seascapes and waterfalls etc. With most bridge cameras you can shoot in the manual mode and get exposures up to 60 seconds. However, the FZ80/82 has a limit of 4 seconds but if you use the technique that I show in this video you can get exposures upto 60 seconds!
Most daylight long exposures will need the use of ND filters and you can either use variable ND types or, preferably, the fixed ND which generally has better image quality and lower colour shift.
In this video I shoot a waterfall and stream swollen by the recent flash flooding in the UK.
