Meta released a dataset of the Tree Canopy Height Model (CHM) at a 1-meter resolution with global coverage. Meta and World Resources Institute (WRI) developed the CHM dataset by utilizing artificial intelligence trained with very high-resolution Maxar imagery. The dataset and the trained model are publicly available.
This video demonstrates how to use the web-viewer app for the CHM dataset, how to access and download the dataset for free via Google Earth Engine (GEE) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) CLI, and how to create a 3D view of aerial images of forested areas.
