STORYLINE
Dozens of Greenpeace activists on Wednesday chained themselves to walls and doors during a protest outside the European Business Summit in Brussels.
Brussels police had to break through the chains to make arrests.
Some of the protesters didn't get up when they were arrested, forcing police to carry them.
Greenpeace wants European companies to support more climate change initiatives.
The activists say companies such as Microsoft, BP, Volkswagen and Maersk are holding back Europe's green economy.
"We are here to highlight the growing split in the European business community between companies who are backing action for a green economy, including higher carbon targets, and those companies who are standing in the way of that action and in doing so are putting at risk of millions of future green jobs," said Greenpeace activist Ruth Davis.
In a giant banner posted outside the summit venue, Greenpeace pointed its finger at those companies, and complimented others, including Google, Unilever, Danone, Philips and Allianz, for working towards a better climate.
The 9th European Business Summit's goal is to focus on Europe's place in the global economy.
The summit gathers companies together to discuss future growth in the world economy.
