The Andisheh Center had its annual Portland Persian Party on August 24th, 2019 from 6 PM to 8:30 PM at Pioneer Square. Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle was a representative from the Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s office.
This was a colorful celebration of Persian music, dance, art and cuisine. This event brought the festive atmosphere of typical Persian parties to our beloved Portland “living room,” so that the public could participate. During the evening, everyone enjoyed live Persian music by Mehdi Bagheri and the Daneshvar Family Ensemble as well as dance performances from various ethnic cultures in Iran, including Gilaki, Azari, Kurdish, Lori and Bakhtiari. They showcased traditional teahouse culture with tea and sweets and a beautiful Persian garden. The Persian food was delicious and was provided by Pasha Restaurant.
For the past 20 years, Andisheh Center has been proudly celebrating and promoting Iranian culture, heritage and the arts, while serving as a bridge to the broader community.
