Within a few miles to Göbekli Tepe, a one-hundred-metre (300 ft) long sloping tunnel has been carved out of solid bedrock at another unexcavated and very ancient Taş Tepeler site in Southeast Turkiye. No one knows who did it, or why. Locals say it there is a spring here and may have been used to collect water. Others say it has carvings in it. Is it from 12,000 years ago, or did the Romans do it?
