On Nov 27, 2021, China successfully launched the "Zhongxing 1D" satellite, a tactical military communication spacecraft.
A Long March 3B rocket sent the satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center to orbit.
The satellite entered the preset orbit successfully.
The name of "Zhongxing 1D" satellite actually means China Star 1D. It is a communications and broadcasting satellite, many of this series of satellites are for tactical military communication purpose.
The satellite is designed and built by China Satellite Communications Corporation Limited, and the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
The Satellite will provide Chinese military high-quality voice, data, radio and television transmission services, and can also provide better services for China's communications and broadcasting industry.
The launch marked the 10th mission of the long March 3B series of carrier rockets this year, success rate is 100%. Two more missions are expected to follow in 2021.
The rocket used in this mission has two new improvements. It has the newly developed bi-directional wind correction technology. This is adopted for the first time in Long March 3B rocket, it helps to widen the launch window.
Application of the new flight control scheme is also available in this mission, to further enhance the rocket’s flight process, which in future will be deployed to other configurations of Long Mach rockets.
This launch is the 399th launch of the Long March rocket series, this means China will reach 400 launch missions very soon.
