This former hangout of the Gambino Crime Family and Mobster John Gotti of the Cosa Nostra is a relic of NYC's historic past a current swanky shoe store in Soho by Mulberry and Prince Streets. The club was founded in 1926 first as the Alto Knights Social Club (after an old street gang during Prohibition), and later became a hangout for Charlie Luciano and others. The Alto Knights name was derived from the Order of Saint James of Altopascio. It served as a social club and mob hangout up until the late 1990s as NYC's Soho and village areas began to change to today's modern areas.
