(23 May 1960) Mr Kruschev, who was accompanied by Mr Gromyko and Marshal Malinovsky, the Soviet Defence Minister, addressed an audience of two or three thousand journalists at a Press conference in Paris. There was booing among the clapping for Mr K, who denounced the booers as "imperialist lackeys", "riff-raff" and other choice names. His tirade lasted for over 2 hours. ® When Mr Macmillan arrived at London Airport, he paused to say a few words for Press and Newsreels. The words of a real Statesman.
