have you ever seen leaks at the grocery store but you’re not sure what to do with them? A lot of people often make potato and leek soup. Today I’m gonna show you how you can cook them on your stove top and then roast them in the oven. Also if you are unfamiliar with the taste of leeks they are kind of a cross between a green onion and garlic. The flavor is amazing!
-1 bunch of leeks
-4 garlic cloves
-1/2 lemon
-EVOO
-1 tablespoon butter
-1/2 cup chicken broth
-splash of white wine
-splash of heavy cream
-salt pepper and garlic blend to taste
slice your leeks up and clean them really good to make sure you get all of the dirt out between the leaves. Cut your leeks into rings. Place olive oil and butter onto a cast-iron skillet once your butter is melted toss in your garlic and then your leaks season and add and white wine, heavy cream, chicken broth and lemon juice. Bring the sauce to a boil and then put them into the oven at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.
