Senior Editor Zack Courts is always arriving to office after his commute with a bunch of opinions about the bike he’s riding. Too much this, not enough that, and occasionally has some decent insights. We thought some of it might help consumers or entertain enthusiasts, so we strapped a camera and microphone to the side of his helmet and told him to turn it on when he leaves his house. A lot of him talking in his helmet is complaining about drivers, yelling at red lights, and wondering why billboards aren’t more expensive. We're not surprised to see that one of our top 10 favorite motorcycles of all time landed in one of our top 10 most-watched videos of 2016. The KTM 1290 Super Duke R is simply an unreal motorcycle. Say what you will about its looks—there isn't a human with a heartbeat that's going to speak disparagingly about that monster of a motor.
In this MC Commute video Senior Editor Zack Courts reveals his true feelings for the KTM. He's got a right to an opinion, too, given that he logged over 10,000 miles on a 2014 model as part of an exhaustive long-term test.
And as if the 2016 Super Duke R is ridiculously super, KTM went and upped the ante for 2017, adding a color TFT dash, a two-way quickshifter, stiffening the suspension, and totally revising the bike's look.
