A tear of the semimemranosus tendon is a rare injury of the posterior medial knee. It typically is associated with injuries of adjacent structures including the tibial attachment of the posterior medial joint capsule. In addition to a semimembranosus tear, this patient suffered from a partial tear of the conjoined tendon and a fracture at the attachment on the fibular tip.
