Cassius persuades Brutus to join the conspiracy against Caesar :
‘Upon what meat doth this our Caesar feed That he is grown so great?’
= ‘What meat does Caesar eat that has made him grow so great?’
Cassius suggests: Caesar’s ambition and ego (= meat) brought him to power.
Senator McCarthy used the quote against the Secretary of Army, Robert T. Stevens :
‘On what meat doth this our Caesar feed?’
= ‘Upon what meat does Robert T. Stevens feed that has made him grow so great?’
Senator McCarthy suggested : an abuse of power
CBS Journalist Murrow turned the quote against McCarthy:
‘And upon what meat does Senator McCarthy feed that has made him grow so great?’
Murrow suggested : McCarthy‘s investiagtions, protected by immunity, and half-truths
McCarthy = the junior senator from Wisconsin

Cassius saying to Brutus : ‘The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, But in ourselves, that we are underlings.’
Cassius suggests: It is not destiny’s fault, but our own faults (mine, yours, the Roman people themselves ), that we’re slaves (of our destiny ).
Murrow : ‘Cassius was right. The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.’ ( = in me, in you, in the American people)
Murrow suggested : ‘McCarthy is a Caesar whom the American people have themselves made and must, therefore, unmake.’ (Maria Wyke: Caesar in the USA, p.163)
A situation of fear: Murrow’s famous sign off 'Good Night, and Good Luck':
The phrase came from a saying popular in London at WWII, with every night's German bombing raid: Londoners parted unsure if they’d live to see the morning.
At that time, during the height of the Blitz (1940), Murrow was stationed in London to provide life radio broadcasts.
