How to make a 3D Maui demigod cake from the Disney movie Moana!

I was so excited this year when my niece asked for a Moana cake. Of course I wanted to do something a little different so I decided on a 3D carved Maui cake.

For this cake I used a rich chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and milk chocolate ganache.
