Today OnePlus completely unveiled the new OnePlus 9 series of smartphone, which include the standard OnePlus 9 as well as the flagship OnePlus 9 Pro. Today I wanna focus on the OnePlus 9 Pro Hasselblad camera in particular.

The result is a huge leap forward in optics for the OnePlus 9 Pro camera features. If you’re unfamiliar, Hasselblad was founded in 1941, and it’s one of the top manufacturers of digital medium format cameras and lenses. In fact, a Hasselblad camera was used to capture the first landed on the Moon - when it comes to cameras, these guys know what they’re doing. They’re also well-known for their expertise in color science, and that’s been incorporated into the OnePlus 9 here too with the aim of providing more perceptually accurate colors to photos taken with the OnePlus 9 Pro.

I’ve been testing the still photography modes on the OnePlus 9 Pro, and I’ve got to say, I think the work has paid off. The look and feel of a photo is generally one of personal preference, but the consensus for a few years now that is OnePlus cameras just don’t measure up to other flagships. I think that here in 2021 with the launch of the OnePlus 9 series, and especially here on the OnePlus 9 Pro camera, that narrative can be set aside.
