Sometimes in life we take a chance on something and sometimes that pans out and sometimes it doesn’t but what matters is that we tried. Taking actions on an idea is probably one of the hardest things to do cause we are so afraid of failure. Since failure and I are good buddies, I’m always trying something new.
With my one year anniversary coming up for 911cooled, I’m always reminded how blessed I am to be where I am in my life. On top of an amazing family and supporting friends, I’ve gotten many opportunities to do some cool things.
Last month was one of those unique moments when my buddy Verone called me and asked if I would be down to take the Guntherwerks 400R for 24 hours and vlog about it. My answer was “hell yes”! lol
Although there was a bit of a conflict because I’ve never had an opportunity to cover such a car on this level. I really struggled with how to engage my audience on this car. However after a sit down, I realized that I should do what I’ve been doing. I’m just an enthusiast with a camera and not a car journalist. Let the pros do what they do best and all I have to do is have some fun and share it with my friends.
The morning started off early as the 400R got delivered at 7:30am, 90 mins early. I was up til 4:30am shooting Joe Maxwell’s build and editing before I hit the sac. You can hear my voice sounding a bit different in the beginning.
Spent the morning with some friends coming to check out the car and hen waited for the bigger production crew around 3pm to cover the 400R with greater detail.
My boys from Attain Media came in clutch with their Tundra that had a Shotover Gimbal That held their 8k Red Cinema Camera. They are known for covering amazing Motorsports content all over the country. Then my boys Apex Brothers Co handled many behind the scenes coverage along with Pedro from Kolor Photography with the drone footage.
Later in the evening I did a small invite for people to come check out the 400R in person. Somehow the 12 invites I sent out ballooned into about 35 people lol.
We were able to get some evening rollers on the 110 fwy also but there was so much traffic on the 110 North as a football game has just ended.
Basically 9pm to 3am we shot all night and was super exhausted but it was all worth it. The morning after, 8am I get a door knock where the 400R was scheduled to get picked up. Fast in and fast out. It was like a dream that I was able to document and share it with the world.
I had an amazing time with the Guntherwerks 400R and I cannot thank Peter Nam and Verone enough for the opportunity.
Big thank you to my support team: Attain Media: Bryant Lambert and Rodney Kline, Apex Brothers Co Dave and Ish Osorio, Pedro with Kolor Photography, IE Photo Rentals for sponsoring us gear for the day!
I hope you guys enjoyed this special segment. I know I did and I can’t wait to cover more specialized cars for you guys in the future if the opportunity allows.
Please share this video with friends and family! I appreciate the support you guys give! Means the world.
