Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif concluded his 2-day visit to China this week. This was his first visit to China since he replaced Khan in April. Both sides signed several MoUs but without discussing the rescheduling of the debt his country owes to Beijing. Pakistan is scheduled to pay the debt by next June and a significant amount of debt of over $20 Bn. China didn’t make any major financial commitments to Pakistan due to political, economic crisis. Sharif was seeking support to help his falling economy as the govt is dealing with a spiralling economic crisis.
