On Tuesday, May 18, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (D-HH) celebrated three major expansions of its Manchester facility: the opening of a 23-hour, 91,000-square-foot Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), expanded office space, and the groundbreaking of an ADA-compliant Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) playground.
The new surgery center is a 91,000-square-foot expansion of the existing facility, and features nine operating rooms: six state-of-the-art operating rooms, and three minor procedure rooms for endoscopy, colonoscopy and gastroenterology procedures. This expansion is the first of its kind for the Manchester area. "It allows us to offer in our existing building not only primary care but also expanded expert specialty services all of which are, and to introduce highly-personalized and state-of-the-art technologies, such as our new fixed MRI," said Chief Medical Officer of the Southern D-H Region, Maria Padin, MD.
The ASC will provide patients a centralized location to access the infusion of state-of the art, high-level medical care with D-H medical experts and staff; and will enable the combination of orthopedics, podiatry, spine, pain management and rheumatology specialists into one comfortable location, making it easier for patients to access comprehensive musculoskeletal care.
