This week saw Boris Johnson clinging on to power after a No Confidence vote in which 148 of his own MPs voted against him. An unexpectedly large rebellion that leaves him badly weakened. The man labelled by his former senior advisor Dominic Cummings as the out-of-control shopping trolley has now completely lost at least one wheel. But the first British Prime Minister in history to be convicted of a crime whilst in office, has declared, in parliament, that absolutely nothing and no-one will stop him continuing in office. A rather chillingly fascistic or at least Trumpian statement in itself. And right up there with “Let the bodies pile high” in the early stages of the pandemic. Or “Only the over 80’s will die”. Or “Forget the death rate & cancer outcomes” or “F*ck business” or more recently “There were no parties, and if there were, I didn’t know about them, or if I did I wasn’t there, or if I was, I didn’t know it was a party, and if I did know, then I was only there for 10 minutes and I didn’t know the rules anyway”. Or most telling of all, his statement this week on partygate to his own backbenchers: “I’d do it all again”. So much for all his apologies to the British people. He says that we should now draw a line under the question of his leadership, and focus on the things that matter. Like the cost of living crisis. In this video, I want to do precisely that.
The channel where we speak truth to power about British politics, and challenge the establishment narrative peddled by the overwhelmingly right wing press and BBC. In the words of Noam Chomsky, "power knows the truth already, and is busy concealing it". Let's make it as hard for them as possible to do so, on Brexit, Corruption, the Economy, the NHS, Electoral Reform, Taxation, Equality and Climate Change.
