Afghani Chicken Karahi
Ingredients:
Water (for blanching) as required
Tomatoes 4-5
Oil 1/2 cup
Ginger Garlic Paste 2 tbsp
Chicken 1 1/2 kg
Green chilies (deseeded & Julienne) 1/4 cup
Tomato Puree 2 cups
Salt 1 tsp / to taste
Garam masala powder 1 1/2 tbsp
Black pepper powder 1 tbsp
Yogurt 1 cup
Green coriander (for garnishing)
Ginger (for garnishing)
Directions:
1. In a pot heat water and add tomatoes. Blanch for 3-4 mins.
2. Transfer them to chilled water and peel the skin of the tomatoes.
3. Now add them to a blender and blend into smooth puree. Your Tomato Puree is ready.
4. In a pot heat oil and add chicken. Cook until chicken changes color.
5. Add ginger garlic paste, green chilies and cook for a minute.
6. Add tomato puree and cook for 3-4 mins. Now add black pepper powder, garam masala powder, salt and cook until water evaporates and oil separates.
7. Add yogurt and cook until chicken is fully done. Your Afghani Chicken Karahi is ready. Garnish with ginger, green coriander and enjoy.
