This is the first-ever short film on the works and legacy of Benjamin Marshall, one of the greatest Chicago architects. Marshall designed some of the most iconic buildings in the city such as the Drake Hotel, the Edgewater Beach Hotel, East Lake Shore Drive, and the Blackstone Hotel... . The Benjamin Marshall Society is dedicated to creating an international forum on architecture and urbanism through film, literature, exhibits and a host of public programs.
This short film will be introduced during the second half of 2019 and will showcase many of Marshall's works as well as highlight key elements of his Gatsby-like life. The goal is to educate Chicagoans and visitors from all over the world about the architect behind the buildings they have long admired.
The documentary will be available in public libraries and will become a permanent part of the Benjamin Marshall Society's tools to continue supporting the rich history of Chicago. The Society has set the fundraising goal of $35,000 for the production of the documentary, to be filmed by Wild Bill Productions, out of Hollywood.
In gratitude for your generous donation, your name will be included in documentary credits of the film on Benjamin Marshall to be premiered at the 2019 Chicago Architecture Biennial.
