The mineralogy of a lepidolite.

This rose lithian muscovite is extremely rich in mica. Talking to a professor, I've been told mica also holds a lot of water (chemically) which would only be released during the firing. This could, therefore, influence the way the glaze melts, making it more "reactive". This is similar to two other rocks I tested before that were giving almost identical results, but having a slight difference in the quality of the melt.

Now, because this one has a lot less visually present quartz crystal (compared to a previous sample), I am not expecting a smooth surface or a fully melted glaze.
