Continuing the theme of accountable, let's read in this video what the Bible says about accountable for our words and rooted in love for one another. Even the very words out of our mouth will be judged one day. Every time we say a crass word or even use an angry tone in our words when we are feeling stressed – we will stand before God and be judged for them.
Burk Parsons said, “Biblical accountability is first and foremost an arm around the shoulder, not a finger pointing in the face.” Being accountable to one another is a high calling, as well as a very grave responsibility.
It is far too easy to condemn someone harshly and out of pride. Where in reality, what we should do is to weep with someone over their sin against God who loves them and help them carry their burden to the foot of the cross. Holding one another accountable is discipleship. It’s encouraging and edifying one another to know Christ more.
