In this episode, I look at where to set up a bug zapper and what you need to run one safely. For me, I prefer using really Tall Shephard's Hooks as they allow me to position the bug zapper at the proper height of 5-7 feet and I can move the zapper as needed. I also make sure that the extension cord that I use to run power to the bug zapper is a sufficient gauge to not cause a fire from over heating the cord. I also waterproof the connection and secure the extension cord so that if the bug zapper should fall in a storm, it remains off the ground. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly is the location of the zapper itself. You want to position it so that it is in a target rich environment while also sufficiently away from human activity to not draw mosquitoes to you. Jump points are as follows:
00:00 The Location
02:12 Shephard's Hook
02:34 Extension Cord
03:26 Secure and Waterproof
04:17 Distance from You
05:07 Octenol Lure
06:14 Other Bugs Get Zapped
06:52 Summing Up

So happy to be running 2 bug zappers
Plenty of lessons learned, like the bug zapper I showed in most of the shots is 3 years old and the bulb has stopped working, I think the shots would have looked better with a functioning light.
