Finnish Prime Minister Alexander Stubb has warned Russia of a 'frozen relation' with the West if Moscow does not respect the ceasefire agreement reached in Minsk on Wednesday.
“We should give peace a chance,” Stubb said.
Stubb also commented on the situation in Greece, after eurozone finance ministers failed to reach a deal on the continuation of the Greek bailout programme.
“Time is running out. The key is to try to find a continuation on the programme but that entails structural reforms,” Stubb said. “Commitments are commitments.”
EU heads of state are holding an informal meeting in Brussels on Thursday. The situation in Ukraine, the euro, the Greek bailout, and the EU's work in the fight against terrorism are topping the summit's agenda.
