I talk to Simon Crittle, former Time Magazine correspond /author Simon spent years researching the Joey Massino and wrote a book about him called 'The Last Godfather'. Joe Massino was and still is the highest ranking mafia member to ever to co-operate with the government.
Some further information about Massino, when he was inducted into the mob, he reported to Nicky Glasses Marangelo (the underboss) then Carmine Galante directly and then to Phil Lucky Giaccone.(captain) Regarding Galante's past, he was known to be a driver for Joe Bonanno (holding a top tier position) and was a big heroin trafficker. in 1962 he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for heroin trafficking, and was released in 1974, in 1976 after Rastelli was sent to prison, Galante appointed himself the boss of the Bonanno Family.
