The 1978 expedition to the Garhwal Himalaya had plans to make an ascent of a new route on the East summit of Nanda Devi (Sunanda Devi ) and then traverse the main ridge to the West Summit and descend by the normal route of that. Monsoons, bureaucracy and a death confounded the plan. Members: Ben Beattie, Dave Challis, Dave Hopkins, Alan Kimber, Dave Nottidge and Andrew Wielochowski.
The video follows Andrew from Delhi to Joshimath, then up into the Nanda Devi sanctuary and onto the mountain.
