"The happiness of the scientist lies not in possessing the truth, but in discovering the truth." The film "Privy Council - Max Planck," in which the 84-year-old Planck talks about his life and work in the form of a self-portrait, was made on Dec. 15, 1942, by order of the Reich Ministry of Propaganda. It was not used for current Third Reich propaganda, but was part of a series of portraits that together were to form a "film archive of personalities." The film was only rediscovered in 1983.
