Measuring the Density of Pitch Pineys and Longleaf Limb Sections at Beachton Blank Works. The aluminum apparatus is not touching the container that holds the water. It is supported from behind by that upside down bowl and the round thing on top is a counterweight filled with lead shot. This setup is to suspend the object in the water. It is more clearly visible later in the video.
I'm going to cut live oak to be smooth on all sides so bubbles won't form on it. I might coat it with paraffin too so it won't absorb water. Then I'll test it again.
