On a bright but very cold day, we see Ian Riley's 45407 charging through Penrith working the first Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express with 47760 on the rear.
This tour was rumoured to have the two restored Jubilees on it which was changed to 45407 and Leander both in black. Then Leander was failed at Carnforth with a loose boiler wash out plug on the morning of the tour, so 45407 went solo and did a great job arriving into Carlisle some 20 minutes early.
Unfortunately I then had a mishap with my cam battery which then refused to go back on the cam and so this short clip was all I managed.
However, on the brighter side, I saw 45407 doing a great job and met up with many of my pals, and the two Jubilees get another chance on the Hadrian on 7 February.
Thanks go to the young crew of 45407 and to RTC tours for a great show and to my pals Allan McKever, Ian Bradshaw, Alan Sayle for the good company and laughs - cheers guys!
