Conclusion: By accepting the UP Government's commitment to maintain a BOD level of 30 mg/l—higher than the Tribunal’s own prescribed sewage disposal standard of 10 mg/l—does this not risk setting a precedent that undermines the Tribunal’s own standards? And, if the UP Government aims to maintain the fecal coliform standard at 100 MPN/100 ml, what is its commitment for fecal coliform levels when the BOD is set at 30 ppm?
