Richard Strauss' maybe most popular song, in English called "Serenade" - the recording has been around, but without subtitles, so we felt compelled to add them.
Lyrics by the german poet Adolf Friedrich von Schack, and the instrumentation is NOT by Richard Strauss but by the Austrian composer Felix Mottl.
The 1912 Paul England translation is not the usual literal word-to-word translation that we often see in subtitles - it is a very charming free adaptation of Schack's text that is actually singable to the music of the song!
