In the 2024 elections, Harsh Malhotra from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won with 664,819 votes, achieving a vote share of 52.59%. His closest competitor, Kuldeep Kumar from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), received 571,156 votes (45.18%), resulting in a victory margin of 93,663 votes.
In the 2019 elections, Gautam Gambhir from the BJP emerged victorious with 696,156 votes, accounting for 55.33% of the total votes. Arvinder Singh Lovely from the INC was the runner-up with 304,934 votes (24.24%), leading to a margin of 391,222 votes.
In the 2014 elections, Maheish Girri from the BJP won with 572,202 votes, translating to a vote share of 47.81%. Rajmohan Gandhi from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) followed with 381,739 votes (31.90%), resulting in a margin of victory of 190,463 votes.
Overall, East Delhi has seen strong performances primarily by BJP candidates in recent elections.
