Savannah cheetahs are awesome animals known for their speed! They are the fastest animals on land, reaching up to 70 miles per hour (113 km/h) – faster than most cars! But they can only run that fast for a few seconds, just long enough to catch their food, like gazelles and impalas, in the African savannah. Their long legs, light bodies, and special paws help them sprint like pros!

Cheetahs live in huge, open grassy areas called savannahs. This open space makes it easy for them to spot and chase their prey. Their tan fur with black spots helps them hide in tall grass so they can sneak up on other animals without being seen. While lions and leopards hunt at night, cheetahs prefer hunting during the day, which keeps them away from other big cats.
