After a relatively short time of 3 years of Virgin Trains having the East Coast franchise, Saturday the 23rd of June was the final day of their operations before the new operator, London North Eastern Railway, took over.
Despite it being Virgin's last day, computer systems including the Customer Information Screens (CIS) and automated announcements were all updated early to display and announce LNER, as can be seen and heard in this video.
Regrettably I didn't have take a lot of footage this day and the video is fairly short, so I included a few clips from when I last went to Doncaster.
A short time at London Kings Cross see's the arrivals and departures of the last Virgin Trains East Coast services as well as a video of onboard an VTEC HST to Peterborough.
Finally, we see the HST depart Peterborough bound for Edinburgh.
