Praia do Ribeiro do Cavalo is about 40 km from Lisbon, on the outskirts of Sesimbra.
Before telling the brief review of our day, here's the vídeo time line.
Video time-line
*00:00 Intro*
07:52 First view of the beach from the top
10:05 The most hard part of the trail
12:54 Arriving in paradise beach
13:37 Walking on the beach sand
*18:49 SWIMMING ON THE SEA IN DECEMBER!!! WHAT?!?!?*
22:40 Running and exercising on the beach
24:18 Leaving the beach
A true paradise hidden in the Arrábida Natural Park, which is difficult to access, but, due to its beauty, ends up making up for the effort made.
As it is a practically wild beach, there is no lifeguard or any type of trade on site, so it is suggested that you bring a backpack with supplies / water, and take the necessary safety precautions when swimming in the sea.
I had the pleasure of taking the trail to the beach and enjoying a sunny day in January, which allowed me to go swimming.
I hope everyone can enjoy this wonderful experience, and have as much fun as I do.
Disadvantages:
- Hard access
Favorable points:
- The trail allows some physical activity, until reaching the beach.
- The beach is very welcoming and the sand is clean
- Clean water with little ripple
_*Post Scriptum*_
Later I took another path for another visit to another secret beach north of Lisbon, and made a comparison about each one of them.
This makes it easier for them to decide which one they would like to meet.
You can see the other secret beach here [ Ссылка ].
To make it a little easier, I will try to evaluate the two beaches, in each of their characteristics, but from my point of view, it can obviously be a different evaluation from each person's point of view.
*Lets rate from 1 to 10 each of the these points:*
Access roads between Lisbon and the beach -------------------------------- *PRC - 9* / PU - 7
Access to the beach via trail ----------------------------------------------------------- *PRC - 6* / PU - 4
Water conditions (clarity and sea swell) ----------------------------------------- *PRC - 8* / PU - 7
Beach sand and cleanliness ------------------------------------------------------------ *PRC - 9 / PU - 9*
Alternative means to get to the beach (by boat) ----------------------------- *PRC - 10* / PU - 0
Natural beauty --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRC - 7 / *PU - 9*
Size of the beach area --------------------------------------------------------------------- PRC - 6 / *PU - 9*
TOTAL: *PRC - 46* / PU 45
*Legends:*
* Praia Ribeiro do Cavalo - PRC
** Praia da Ursa - PU
As you can see there is a little difference between the two beaches, and I swear I did not carry out a controlled assessment to give this value.
Even I was surprised.
But regardless of the total assessment, both beaches are very pleasant, so what I think the most important factor to take into account is the access conditions to the beach.
Many people may want to go to the beach and may not be physically able to get there.
