US Republican criticises House vote to sanction ICC
Congressman Thomas Massie, who voted “present” on a bill to sanction ICC officials over their arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, says US lawmakers should focus on America.

“The US House did only one thing today,” Massie – a rare Republican critic of the unconditional US support for Israel – wrote in a social media post.

“We passed a bill to protect Israeli PM Netanyahu from the International Criminal Court.”

The congressman added that the international court has no authority over the US, but Washington should “not get involved in disputes between other countries”.

Hamas approves Israel's list of 34 hostages to be released in potential Gaza cease-fire deal
Hamas has approved a list of 34 hostages presented by Israel to be exchanged in a possible cease-fire deal, a group official told Reuters on Sunday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, also reiterated that any deal is contingent upon reaching an agreement on an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a permanent cease-fire.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States has released further information about the deadly New Year’s Day car-ramming incident in New Orleans, offering a brief timeline of how the suspect executed his attack.

In a news conference on Thursday, Christopher Raia, a deputy assistant director from the FBI’s counterterrorism division, also clarified that only one suspect is currently implicated in the attack: 42-year-old Texas resident Shamsud-Dim Jabbar.
