The government has finalised the rules for the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. The draft rules will be issued soon for public consultation, expected within the next 20 days.
Passed by Parliament in August 2023, the DPDP Act aims to protect personal data and privacy. It was initially introduced in Parliament on December 11, 2019, to ensure the protection of private data belonging to individuals across the country. The bill outlines stringent provisions regarding data protection, data sharing, and data storage.
