In this video we'll see how to order PCBs using gerber file from manufacturer. There are many parameters we have to tell the manufacturer about our PCBs which we're ordering and we have to give inputs about them.
This video tells what standard parameters are to be chosen.
For Any one who wants to order DIY pcbs, these guidelines will help.
1. Board thickness : by default its 1.6 mm across all manufacturers, if you want to reduce your pricing, then you can choose a smaller board thickness like 0.8mm. However, it does not affect the copper thickness and current flowing through it. Default value is 1.6 mm and its ideal for most PCBs
2. Copper thickness : by default its chosen to be 35 micron which is good for most pcb's. If you want more current to flow from your PCB, then chose it to be 70 micron.
3. Color of PCB : this is the PCB color, based on your chosing. default is green
4. Surface Finish : chose HASL or ROHS, if you don't want RoHS Compliance, then HASL is good. RoHS will cost little more
5. Panelized PCB : choose no if you want to hand solder, if you are going to use reflow oven, then you already know about using panelized PCB ;)
6. PCB Material : By default for most applications, FR4 is chosen. The manufacturer also treats FR4 to be standard. Unless you know about it, keep it FR4
These are most important options while ordering PCBs from manufacturers, you can ignore all other options if you're not sure about it.
