Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the CargoBuckle G3 ratchet strap with your angled brackets. This is gonna create a strong and sturdy ratcheting system to secure whether it's your boat or other cargo to your trailer, plus you have a bracket to give you some extra clearance too. The CargoBuckle is a self-retracting strap. So this means that you have six feet of strap length that you can wrap around your cargo, over your cargo, to your boat, and with this design, it makes it a lot easier to strap things down and ratchet them down as well. This has a 3,500-pound max load. You do get two CargoBuckles with our kit here.
So that way, you can secure your boat or cargo at one point and the other. This utilizes vinyl-coated S hooks. That helps protect your cargo from scuffs and scratches, and it's perfectly designed to fit most boat eye hooks. This has a two-inch wide strap, and it's a strong and durable strap. If it looks like a seatbelt, that's because the makers of CargoBuckle also make seat belts.
You can see that strength in their design. Now, it's the ratcheting strap upper body that's really interesting. The components are you have a plastic housing. So that way, even if it's out on your trailer, on your cargo in the sun, it is weather resistant. You have a steel construction for the inside and a stainless steel spring, but the way this all works together is like a ratcheting strap.
You have to move the lever around to access the different functions. So we're gonna move it to the open position, pull the lever, go all the way up. This way, you can pull the strap up, but if you let go of the strap, it automatically self-contracts or self-retracts. Now, when you pull the lever again and put it in literally any other position, you can no longer pull the strap out, but it will still self-retract. This is designed to be mounted to one point.
That way, you have tension when you use this. So we're gonna put this in the open position. We're gonna put this around. Fortunately it all comes pre-threaded and pre-installed, so you don't have to, like, figure out where to put the strap. So with it in the open position, we're then going to pull the strap out, and then move this down. So if you had it mounted and you had tension, then pulling up on the strap would start pulling it together. If you did not have it mounted and you did not have tension, then that's where the self-retract comes in handy. Depending on if you're using the mounting bracket or not will determine the minimum distance for where you need to strap down. So if you're just using the ratcheting body and that's where you're strapping it to your mounting hole, then 7 1/2 inches is your minimum distance. With that bracket, it's gonna be about nine inches, and that means if your eye bolt is close by, like up here, you can still reach it as long as it's further than those measurements given. This has dual safety locks, meaning that it ensures the ratchet stays in the open or the closed position. So we have it tightened down right now. Let's get another ratchet in there so that's not going anywhere. We're gonna flip it over to the open, and you can see that safety lock come into action. This also has sure grip handles, which means it's large enough where you can just use it with one hand, but it's also easy enough to operate, and you're not pinching things. Now, I did show this CargoBuckle G3 on a boat trailer, but you can also use this in other applications, whether it's your garage, your shed, or even your truck bed. Because of that 45-degree bracket, this is ideal for your permanent mounts on the floor. You can put this on the floor, bring this strap up and over your item, and then you have access to the buckle. This can also be good for your wall-mount applications. Whether the strap goes up or the strap goes down, that bracket just increases your clearance and makes it a lot easier to use. This is a good example of where the CargoBuckle can come in handy. I can't mount this straight up because then our hook would interfere with the boat. To install this, you do get two sets of hardware, so one set with the bracket and another set with the buckle. Now, the hardware doesn't really match, and it doesn't really work as well as I would like for the size of our bracket. So I would recommend just putting the included hardware way into your toolbox, grabbing your own set of bolts and nuts and washers. You do get Belleville wash
